All the current members with valid membership of the PMI Bangalore Chapter are invited to join the Annual All Members meet on 10th Feb 2007 at Hotel Woodlands, Rajaram Mohan Roy Rd. Bangalore. (Please note this event is meant only for valid PMI Bangalore Chapter members and they are expected to carry their valid membership card or membership id).

PMI Bangalore Chapter Contributors / Volunteers Meet on 18th Dec 06
The PMI Bangalore chapter volunteer’s meeting was held on the 18th of December 2006 at Hotel Woodlands. Over 70 member volunteers participated in the event to spend the evening understanding the volunteering opportunities at the chapter. Amar Bhaskar (President) summarized the chapter‘s journey this year and shared the chapter accomplishments & plans. PM Essence – The chapter’s news letter was launched. Vijay Paul (Director – Special initiatives) briefed the volunteers on the PMI framework and the expectations from volunteers. This was followed by a PMI video on the benefits of volunteering. The Star contributor’s recognition program was unveiled - Gold and Silver contributor awards were given to 2006 chapter volunteers.
The Volunteer workshops and their purpose were introduced by Arun Ramarathnam (VP Communications and Publicity). Workshop round tables were held for 4 areas - Education, Programs, Initiatives and Communications & Publicity. Each of the round tables were had 15-20 members chaired by one of the chapter Board members. Member volunteers enthusiastically contributed to these workshops and came forth with ideas and suggestions for each area which was later summarized by a volunteer from each group.
This was followed by an address by our special invitees – Wg. Cdr. A.E. Patrawalla (Chairman, AeSI & President BMA), Rtn. Krishnamurthy (Rotary North West), Mr. Neelakantan Narayanaswamy, (Project Director, ISRO), Mr. Parthasarathy N. S (EVP, MindTree Consulting). Members were given a memento – a PMI mug! The vote of thanks was proposed by PS Ravindranath (Secretary) followed by dinner and networking.

Oct 5 - PM Footprints launched 
PM Footprints program was launched on 5th October 2006 with great excitement and excellent response of participants. The program was inaugurated by Mr. V.Amar Bhaskar, President PMI Bangalore Chapter. He highlighted the objectives of the program, to provide a forum for Experience and Knowledge Sharing amongst the PM community across the industries. The program will benefit the PM community as a very good learning ground both for the participants and the presenter and interactive question and answers session would provide a lot of exchange of thoughts and ideas. He concluded with the message experience and knowledge is so precious and should be passed on and therefore the program is appropriately christened PM Footprints.

PMI Bangalore Chapter and BCIC are organising a national conference that creates a unique platform to share, discuss, learn and co-create value that would be useful to project management practitioners worldwide.
The Project Management Practitioners Conference (PMPC) 2006 was held in Bangalore, India on the 18th and 19th of September 2006. PMPC 2006 is intended for Project Management Practitioners in IT, ITes, Construction, Aerospace, Space, Automotive, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Government, Defense, Academia and wherever Project Management can deliver value.

09-Sep-2006: 7th Annual PM Seminar by PMI Bangalore, Rotary & IBM

For the seventh successive year, PMI Bangalore, Rotary Bangalore West and IBM are conducting a one-day seminar on Project Management. The seminar provides great value by introducing the key Project Management principles. The proceeds from the seminar will go towards funding Rotary’s social service projects. This is the reason why so many companies, especially in the IT sector, have supported the event over the years.
This intense one-day seminar addresses all the key project management knowledge areas and will give the participants a high level of understanding of modern practices. The seminar will also provide an ideal platform for interaction and networking with like-minded professionals.
This program is intended for IT professionals with 2 to 3 years experience, team leaders, project leads planning to undergo a role transition to project managers, project managers, HR and Finance managers in IT industry. Project team leaders and managers in other sectors can also benefit from the seminar.

12-Aug-2006: PMI Bangalore chapter hosts the first "PM Team India" conclave
PMI Bangalore chapter hosts the first "PM Team India" conclave at the Royal Orchid Central.
The event was the first get together of the PM Team India forum that comprises of the key PM leaders from various Indian cities - Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and Trivandrum.
The forum deliberated and brainstormed on opportunities for PM initiatives at a national level that could of be value for project management professionals in the nation.
