PMI BANGALORE CHAPTER ELECTION RESULTS

Dear PMP Members -

The nominating committee of PMI Bangalore Chapter would like to thank you for the active participation in electing office bearers for the five positions that fell vacant this year. We are pleased to announce the election of the following office bearers for the PMI Bangalore chapter. The office bearers will assume office for a period of two years by the beginning of next year.

Dear PMI Member,
 
As a PMI member eligible to vote, your voice is crucial in electing leaders by a popular vote of a wide representation of members. By placing your vote, you will help ensure the direction of PMI into the future.

The 2005 Nominating Committee has been tasked by the Board with identification and evaluation of potential candidates. Accordingly, the Nominating Committee had invited for nominations from the members and then went through the scrutinising & short listing the candidates. In this process some of the positions did not require any voting.
 
Candidates who are seeking election to the positions coming for voting are mentioned below. Their profiles and other details have been posted on this web site. Please refer to the links on the right pane of this page. Please familiarize yourself with the Candidates' background, experience, statements, and cast your vote for the individuals you feel will best provide the necessary leadership for the future of
your chapter. You may vote for only one candidate for every position and your latest ballot will be considered as the final vote in case you happen to send multiple votes.

You are requested to cast your vote, in response to the email sent by Nomination Committee in this regard, as per the ballot and return the same by email to eMail Id pmi.blr.elections.2005@gmail.com by 09:00 PM on October 30th, 2005. Any ballot papers received after this deadline will be considered invalid. Your ballot should be returned from the eMail id to which communication has been addressed.
Ballots received from any other eMail id will be considered as invalid votes.

The Board of PMI Bangalore chapter formed a Nominating Committee on September 12th, 2005 with a charter to conduct the elections for the vacant positions on the board. Elections will be held for the following positions:

I) EXECUTIVE OFFICER positions

  1. Vice President – Finance : He/she shall oversee the management of funds for duly authorized purposes of the Chapter
     
  2. Vice President - Communication & Publicity : He/she shall be responsible for the timely dissemination of information both to and from the Chapter membership, using various tools to accomplish the objective
      
  3. Vice President - Membership : He/she shall be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Chapter membership that assures continued growth through aggressive enrolment/recruiting

II) BOARD OF DIERCTORS positions

Positions in the board of PMI Bangalore chapter are non-remunerative, voluntary and honorary with tenure of two years. Elected officers will assume responsibility from January 2006.

Through a separate email we are inviting PMI Bangalore Chapter members to nominate themselves for any one of the positions mentioned above. Interested members are requested to provide their personal details using the Nomination Form. We encourage nominations from women members and members in Non-IT industries. After receiving the responses from members, the Nominating Committee will scrutinise the nominations as per the qualifying criteria mentioned below.

PMI Bangalore Chapter members meeting the qualifying criteria will be allowed to contest for the respective positions through an electoral process. The details of the candidates contesting for positions, as appearing in the Nomination Form, will be offered to members for voting. At the end of the voting period, officers will be elected based on the votes cast in favour of the member.



QUALIFYING CRITERIA
 

  1. Member PMI Bangalore Chapter in good standing as of September 21st 2005. Elected members should agree to maintain currency of membership during the tenure of their office.
  2. Member should be ordinarily resident in Bangalore
  3. Members should be available to devote necessary time on PMI Bangalore Chapter activities.

NOMINATION PROCESS

  1. Members interested in nominating themselves should submit duly filled Nomination Form by
    October 7th, 2005 to mail id pmi.blr.elections.2005@gmail.com. The nomination form
    can also be downloaded from PMI Bangalore chapter website.
  2. Nomination Form should be returned from the eMail id to which the communication has been
    addressed. Forms received from any other eMail id will not be considered.
  3. Each member can contest for only one position. The first nomination received from each member
    will be considered in case we receive more than one nominations.
  4. Members can withdraw their nominations by October 10th, 2005 by sending the mail to that effect.
The Nominating Committee has made their best efforts to provide all the relevant information to the members. On behalf of Nominating Committee, I request for members’ cooperation in meeting the time line so that the next stage of the election process can be initiated as per the schedule.
