Nearly 20 years of my life, I had spent delivering projects for the clients. I clearly understand the difference the project managers can make to the project and that is what endeared me, a hard core technologist, to this profession.
I have shared this knowledge and experience with my fellow IBMers and with others through Seminars and Trainings.
I have also managed competency development in Project Management in IBM and understand how to convey the value of Project Management to organizations, clients and employees.
My association with PMI Bangalore Chapter is right from the day of signing of the Articles of Association. I have participated in their external knowledge dissemination programs like “One-day Seminar on Project Management” and “PM Primer” as a speaker. I am also proud to have been part of the first nominating committee that established the election process and rules.
India has prospered and Mega-projects have become the order of the day. Most of these are in Non-IT industries, while the spend on Project Management is more in IT Industries.
As a PMI Member and an Indian, I feel that the penetration of formalism and research in project management techniques in India is very low. -
I would work to see the penetration increase through awareness and adoption.
-
I would also work to see better visibility of India’s growth in project management competency in International circles.
