1. Career :

I wish I could claim to have half a century of experience in projects – but I will have to wait till March 25, 2010 to be able to do that.

I retired in 1996 from Aeronautical Development Agency, the Defence Unit engaged in one of the largest and most ambitious projects ever undertaken in India – the Light Combat Aircraft project. Earlier stints were in private sector – Ottoindia Pvt. Ltd. – an Indo- German Company specialized in heavy Engineering projects – particularly in the steel, mining and chemical sectors, and Greaves Cotton & Co. Ltd. (Projects Division). Post-retirement engagements include those as Consultant in Contract Management – first with IBM, then with Compaq and HP (just so as not to be left out of the IT bandwagon). I am at present freelancing as a Consultant in Contracts / Project / Materials Management.

2. Membership of Other Professional Bodies :

Fellow of Indian Institute of Materials Management, Former Hony. Editor of its official journal, Faculty, Examiner, Author of Study Notes, as well as published papers.

3. Strengths :

(a) NEARLY 50 years of experience as mentioned above.
(b) Over 30 years of handling training sessions.
(c) Awards of Recognition ( Silver Star in 2007 and 2008, Gold Star in2009) from PMI, Bangalore Chapter.

4. Weaknesses :

Age is yet to teach me patience.

5. Opportunities :

There is plenty to do - make the Chapter the best REP , make the PM Quest Slides truly world class, organize workshops on specialized subjects, to improve the monthly newsletter, have synergy with other professional institutes to organize seminars, etc., offer and provide consultancy services, etc.

6. Threats :

Competition from other chapters, REPs. These can be met only by establishing our own excellence.
