Who will conduct ?

PMI Bangalore Chapter has a panel of experienced faculty who are certified project management professionals. They are all professionals who have a number of years of PM experience, and have been a
part of PMI's training programs in Bangalore. The faculty for this seminar is drawn from this panel and
IBM.


What is PMI?

Project Management Institute is a world wide body whose objective is to promote professionalism in management of projects. It operates in125 countries through local chapters. The Bangalore Chapter was set up in 1998. From a modest beginning, it has grown into becoming the second largest chapter in Asia Pacific region with over 1700 members. A primary objective of the Bangalore Chapter is to promote professional Project Management practices in all sectors. The chapter conducts a number of training programs. This one-day program is the only one of its kind.

RBW and PMI Bangalore Chapter have partnered for over 7 years, to conduct many one-day seminars on project management that have benefitted aspiring PM professionals.
They have now joined hands to bring this unique seminar to the industry once every quarter. Since the proceeds from the seminar will be used by RBW for their community service projects, these seminars give organizations the opportunity to train their professionals and at the same time fulfill corporate social responsibility objectives.

About Rotary Bangalore West

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Rotary Bangalore West is a 30 year old service club that has about 100 members.
With a mix of youth and experience, the club has served the community in a responsible manner in many areas including literacy and health care. In health care, RBW, along with Sharada Peetham has been involved in eye care, autism, dialysis and many other areas for the community. In literacy RBW has
adopted Govt. Schools, provided libraries, book banks, chemistry labs, toilets, etc., at these schools. Proceeds of this seminar will fund the club's many community service projects.

Speakers' Profile:

Mr. V.S. Subramanian, PMP

After doing his B.Sc from Presidency College, Chennai, B.E. (Mech.) from BITS, Pilani and M.S. from Brown University, U.S.A., Mr. Subramanian joined Union Carbide in 1960 and retired in 1998. During these 38 years he had worked in their Consumer Products division, Metals division, Gas Products Division, and Chemicals and Plastics Division. While he had worked in Manufacturing, Industrial Products Sales, Consumer Products Sales and TQM, more than 20 years were spent in Project Management in India, USA and in South East Asia. He retired as Project Director, Union Carbide Asia Pacific.

The Major Projects he was involved in were:

1. Mechanization of Miniature Battery Assembly line.
2. Establishing new Zinc Rolling Mills - in Calcutta and Chennai
3. Setting up a super alloy foundry and machine shop.
4. Systems management of design of a coal conversion plant for Energy Department, USA
5. Setting up a Tank Farm Facility for Chemicals in Thailand
6. Assisting in setting up a Phenolic Micro balloon facility in Malaysia
7. Setting up a state of the art Latex manufacturing facility in Indonesia and Thailand

He became a member of PMI in 2000. He is currently a member of the executive council of PMI Bangalore Chapter and is Vice President –Education and Certification. He is in the faculty of PMI Bangalore Chapter in conducting the mandatory training program for PMP certification. He has been a member of the faculty conducting the annual rotary seminar since 2004.


Mr. Subramanian Seetharaman, PMP & IBM Certified Senior Project Manager.

He has over 25 years of experience in functional areas of Customer fulfillment, Distribution, Logistics & Information Technology .

Prior to joining IBM in 1992, he has worked with esteemed multinationals like Glaxo, Chemplast, TVS Suzuki in various functional areas for about ten years.

He currently work as the Deployment Leader for the Project Management tool , Rational Portfolio Manager (the WW initiative in IBM ).
He is also a IBM Certified instructor for teaching IBM Project Management courses.


Mr. Murali Santhanam has 27 years of combined experience in Banking and IT Services. During these 27 years he had played the roles of Bank Officer, Architect, Project Manager, Program Manager, Portfolio Manager and Industry Executive.

He started his career with Indian Overseas Bank. After leading development and deployment of several on-line systems for 14 years, he joined IBM.

His present responsibilities include portfolio management and pre-sales support for global banking clients. He is a PMP since 1998 and is an IBM Certified Senior Project Manager since 1999.


Mr. Padmanaban Venkataramanan is a PMI & IBM certified Project Manager, specialized in Project & Delivery Management in IT Infrastructure.

He has an overall 24 years of experience in the area of project management & technical support.

Venkataramanan is currently working as project manager executing a major Telecom Project in the area of IT Infrastructure.

Prior to this, he has successfully managed as a project manager many corporate clients, like Vysya Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, GE Country wide, Tata Iron & Steel Company.etc.,

Venkataramanan has an excellent understanding of the IT Infrastructure domain knowledge, including the IT Facility Management services.

He played a key role during the Y2K transition which resulted in few recognition awards both from India & ASEAN

Received the highest award of the country & represented the year 2006 Hundred Percent Club from India.

He has also received numerous awards in IBM for the successful execution of various projects.
Apart from his job role, he is an active member of the PM COE representing the ITD Business Unit.

During his work, he has contributed in taking basic project management classes for the project managers of his unit.

Prior to IBM, Venkataramanan has worked with esteemed organization CMC Ltd for a period of ten years.

Besides being the Project Management Professional, he has a Diploma in Electronics.
