Current: Managing Director, Convergent Communications India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore, India. Venkat is one of the promoters of Convergent Communications. The company was launched in December 1998 and has grown to be a multi-locational networking and wide area Communications company with a turnover of US$4.5M. Company has strategic alliances with Technology leaders like Lucent and Vanguard Managed Solutions.

Previous: General Manager of Networking division in South Asia of Motorola Information Systems Group. He was with Motorola Hong Kong as Director of transmission products group, responsible for development of the business in Asia Pacific, excluding Japan. He also helped to start the first JV operations of Motorola in India, in 1990.

Product Engineering Manager Modi Xerox. Helped to start the electronics division in Modi Xerox, Also worked as Project manager with Rank Xerox UK from Aug 1997 to December 1998. Lead the team in India that started electronics export from Modi Xerox to parent company.

Project manager with International Power semiconductors Mumbai and as project engineer with Radar Project Center in Mumbai.

Venkat Kedlaya currently heads the Southern Region Committee of MAIT, an organisation of IT industry in India. The association is actively promoting the interests of IT in India.

Interests: Music, travel, Reading - business/technology related publications.

Scholarships: National Science Talent Scholar from 1968 to 1973.
