Graduation: Bachelor of Engineering
(Electrical Engineering) from Thiagarajar college of
Engineering, Madurai (1969-1974). Secured third rank in the
university (currently known as Madurai Kamaraj University)
Post Graduation: Master of Business Administration from PSG
College of Technology, Coimbatore (1974-1976). Secured
distinctions in seven core subjects (production, operations,
finance, marketing, quantitative techniques, system design,
human resources). Joined the organization as a management
trainee on 31st Dec 1975. From 1977 till date, a total of 30
years of experience in manufacture, assembly, quality assurance,
project management, integrated materials management of piston &
jet engine aircraft, piston engines, helicopters, various types
accessories, avionics and ground support equipment.
Served as Resident Manager of the company in the Indian High
Commission in London for three years. Handled several important
assignments and tasks including Organizing the Indian stalls at
the international air shows at le Bourget, France & Farnborough,
UK.
Planned, organized and established country’s in house
capabilities for major servicing of mirage 2000 aircraft and its
airframe systems. at that time of implementation, this was the
only facility in the world outside France (the country of the
aircraft manufacturer, m/s dassault aviation). this facility
(investment over Rs. 250 crores) was set up in a record time of
18 months from go-ahead. In that process, received aeronautical
society of India award for indigenization of ground support
equipment saving more than Rs. 24 crores in FE. First person
to implement ERP in the company. streamlined the procurement
functions for al production & the first to introduce pilot
project on e-procurement. Developed the company’s
model/procedure for design outsourcing. Set global standards
of excellence by benchmarking with best-in-class players and
upgraded the quality system of the composites manufacturing
units to as 9100 standards. |
