Yogananda S.R, son of a leading lawyer, has degrees in Science and Mechanical Engineering with a post graduate degree in management.

Starting his professional career in 1972 with mico, he has worked in senior positions in india and abroad.he was managing director of a british company in nigeria and has headed engineering divisions of bahwans and m/s Getco in Muscat and Dubai. He has concluded many multi million dollar contracts for his companies.

Recognised and honoured by many multinationals currently he advises companies.

He joined Rotary Club of Bangalore East in 1987.he is a millenium president and centennial governor.

During Yogananda’s Governorship, the district saw a flurry of service activities.

During his governorship, the district’s contribution to the rotary foundation was US $ 143,667 in annual giving.this is the highest in the history of R.I. District 3190. Infact, it was also the second highest contribution in the centennial year in zone 6A and he was honoured in the Colombo Institute for the same.

The first completed centennial project in the world to be inaugurated by the R.I. President was from district 3190.

Libraries, community halls, computer labs, vocational centers, water treatment plants, water projects, comfort stations in girls schools, almost 15,000 units of blood, 3,000 cataract surgeries - the rotarians of the district plunged themselves in helping the needy.

The public image was on a high note. All major activities were covered well by newspapers, television and radio.

The centenary celebrations were grand and meaningful.

A Paul Harris bust was installed in a rotary circle in a busy thoroughfare.

The honorable chief minister shri.dharam singh participated prominently in many activities in that year.

The centennial address by his holiness the Dalai lama appeared in the rotary website.

He has been on the management committees of bangalore management association and all india maufacturers organiation for many terms.

Married to rajashree, the couple, both P H F’s, are interested in music and painting. Their sons Apurv and Amol are working in the united states.

A winner of the raymonds ‘best dressed bridegroom ‘award in 1975,he has made short films on rotary. A keen reader, he swims and plays golf and billiards occasionally.

Currently, he is been appointed as annualprograms strategic advisor to South India and Srilanka. By the rotary foundation.

He is also the national coordinator for essay competition on ‘4 way test (Ethical Values)’ for school students all over india in recognition of this work,.he recently has been made honarary member of rotary club of windsor (1918)canada

Yogananda is the recepient of ‘the citation for meritorious service ‘ by the rotary foundation.
